Book Synopsis:
Abi Saunders might be a kickboxing champion, but when it comes to being the center of attention, she’d rather take a roundhouse kick to the solar plexus any day. So when her trainer convinces her to audition to be the stunt double for hot teen starlet Tilly Watson, Abi is shocked—and a little freaked out—when she gets the job.
Being a stunt double is overwhelming, but once the wig and makeup are on, Abi feels like a different person. Tilly Watson, to be exact. And when Tilly’s gorgeous boyfriend, Jon, mistakesAbi for the real star, Abi's completely smitten. In fact, she’s so in love with her new life, it isn’t long before she doesn’t have time for her old one.
But when the cameras are turned off, will she discover running with the Hollywood A-list isn’t quite the glamorous existence she thought it was?

If you're looking for a quick, light, and absolutely relevant book to the young adult genre , check out Sara Hantz's YA contemporary novel "Will the Real Abi Saunders Please Stand Up?".
It's told through the p.o.v. of Abi Saunders. Abi has a name in the kickboxing world & gets offered to be a stunt double for one of her own personal favorite celebrities , a young actress with a Lindsy Lohan style of behaving with a repulsive mother and squad of frenemies that no one should envy.
Abi grew up with and is still struggling with a stammer/ studder. I personally could relate to this due to the fact I couldn't pronounce R's, L's, or S's correctly for years. I took speach classes with other kids who had impediments & it's a really hard thing to overcome. The more nervous you get... the worse the speech gets, making a person even MORE aware and it's awful to get tounge tied. I honestly also had a sport help build my confidence ( swimming) :).
I personally feel like this was one if the more important character points to applaud Abi for.
Sadly I didn't find Abi's "normal friends" Liv and Matt to be that much better than the "jet set" group of stunt double's & actors ended up being? Maybe I lucked out in the friend department , but the lack if true communication and honesty that seems sadly accurate these days among friends bummed me out. An apology should never be done via phone or text! It's so impersonal.
I have this book 3 1/2 stars. The writing was good and the story had substance . I can't fault the author for humanity being what it is. I'll be checking out other work by Sara Hantz. Check out the links to get your own surprise and add this title to your Goodreads tbr list!
